If you are looking for a calm, relaxed newborn photoshoot in Hitchin, you have come to the right place!

My newborn photoshoots are relaxed affairs. I keep things nice and calm and take things slowly. You will be able to relax whilst watching me create beautiful memories for you to treasure.

The session is ENTIRELY baby led and as such, they can take anything from 2-4 hours. The “average” session is usually 3 hours however I never book another session on the same day as a newborn so I will take my time to make sure we get the reasults you are looking for.

As newborns change very quickly, it’s best to photograph them between 6-14 days old when babies are more likely to sleep during the session and are still flexible enough to curl into those cute poses.

After we have taken some details about how your baby is settling in to their new environment, how feeding is going etc we will then have an understanding of what poses and workflow is acheivable with your baby.

We will usually start the session with a good feed to get your baby to sleep and then start with some gentle poses whilst your baby gets used to our touch and then we will progress through the session, capturing beautiful images for you.

We will often end the session with some awake shots which are absolutely adorable! We absolutely LOVE it when the parents get involved and get in the photographs as this is truly the best gift you can give to your child! So please don’t be shy!

We will endeavour to capture a variety of set ups and poses duing your session but this depends entirely how your baby is doing on the day.

If you have a paticular pose that you would like, please let us know before your session and I will do my utmost to capture it for you.

Newborn Photoshoots Pricing

A £50 deposit is taken at the time of booking to secure your photoshoot which is deducted from your chosen package. Additional prints and products are available to purchase if required.

There is no need to choose a package yet. Approximately 2 weeks after your session, I will schedule an online viewing and ordering appointment. Here you will have the opportunity to view your gallery and decide on which packages and products suit you best.

How do I book a newborn photoshoot?

Firstly, fill in our contact form below and let us know when your due date is. If we have availability and you would like to secure a session, we will take a £50 non-refundable deposit. This deposit is deducted from your chosen package which you will choose after your session has taken place

What if my baby is late?

As I’m sure you’ve heard, babies rarely arrive on their due date! In fact, only 4% of babies arrive on their actual due date. For this reason, we do not book in a specific date at the time of booking. All ask is that you let me know as soon as possible after your baby has been born so that I can give you the most flexible date options within the first 14 days.

Where will the photoshoot take place?

All newborn photoshoots take place in the comfort of my home studio based in Fairfield Park. I have a large comfortable space with a professional light set up. To find out more about the space please see about me.

How long will the photoshoot take?

A newborn photoshoot is entirely baby led and as such, can take 3-4 hours. This allows time for lots of cuddle breaks, nappy changes and feeding time. We will go at your baby’s pace and I will never rush them into a pose. I take a calm, slow approach. You are welcome to bring something to do – a book to read, a tablet to watch Netflix or even catch up on a bit of sleep!

How many images will I get?

I aim to provide a full gallery containing 20-25 carefully selected images for you to choose from. You are then able to choose how many images you wish to purchase – I have packages containing, 5, 10, or all the images included. The final decision on how many images you keep it up to you.

When will my images be ready?

I aim to have your images ready for viewing around 14 days after your session. After your viewing, please allow a further 14 days for your order to arrive and be ready for collection.

Can I purchase additional products?

In addition to our packages, you can also purchase additional prints and wall art. If you are interested in these we can discuss this at your viewing appointment.
