Where will the photography session take place?

The session will take place in my home studio in Fairfield park, just outside of Letchworth, Hertfordshire. There is a comfortable space you to relax in whilst we create beautiful photographs of your baby.

How long does a newborn photography session last?

This is a “how long is a piece of string” type question! Out newborn sessions are entirely baby led and as such, the session may take up to 3 hours. Your baby will take time to settle into their new environment, feed and fuss before we are able to take any photographs. I do not rush the session and never book another client on the same day as a newborn. It can often take up to an hour before I even press the shutter button for the first time! You ar enecouraged to bring some snacks, something to do and enjoy a rare chance to relax whilst I take care of your baby.

What age does my baby need to be?

The best time to photograph a newborn is between 6-14 days. At this age, they are more likely to sleep through their session which makes it possible to photograph them in those cute, squishy newborn poses. There is absolutely no reason I can’t photograph your baby after 14 days, however it wil be a different type of session with a different set of images produced. Still totally cute, just more awake, less posed etc.

When do I need to book?

As early as possible. I am only able to offer a limited number of newborn sessions per month and these get booked up in advance. It is best to book in after your 20 week scan to guarantee availability.

What is my baby arrives early/late?

At the booking stage, we do not set a specific date for your session – we book you in for a date range. Babies almost never come when you expect them to! I will keep in touch with you towards the end of your pregnancy and send you a reminder to contact me once your baby has been born. We will then secure a date before your baby reaches 14 days old.

What days and times do you photograph newborns?

All newborn sessions take place on weekdays, startign around 10am. At this age, babies are often awake during the night and have their bigest sleep of the day in the morning. In order to work with a newborn, they need to be settled and sleepy which is most often the case in the mornings.

What if we’ve been up all night and are tired?

I know the last thing you will feel liek doing after along, sleepless night is getting everyone up and ready to go out however your baby will be in the perfect state for their session! Bring a coffee and a book and catch up on your rest whilst I creeate beautiful memories for you.

How many photographs will we get?

This will depend on which package you choose. I aim to show you a selection of around 20-25 images to choose from and we have packages where you can purchase either 5, 10 or all of your images. Our full pricing details can be found on our pricing page.

How much do your newborn photography sessions cost?

There is no sitting fee to pay so you only buy the package of photographs that you would like. Our pricing information can be found on our pricing page.
